Powerade and Paris....

Hello again folks.
The Powerade tournament was a disappointing experience unfortunately. I ended up +8, shooting 77 which was never gonna stand a chance of qualifying so as I say it was very disappointing. It was more a psychological problem than a technical one for me. Not temporament for once, I've got to say that for once I did myself proud in that department and showed myself that I am capable of keeping calm.
It was confidence, pure confidence. I experienced nerves that I haven't felt for a long time and began to doubt my ability. This seems to happen when I play in tournaments against people I know and that may be interested in how i've scored. I did hit a lot of good shots but there were occasions I felt so nervous I didn't think I was gonna be able to take the club away. This really wasn't pleasant and needs addressing. My putting also, was very random! I holed some good ones aqnd missed some silly ones. I have been putting quite well recently but seemed to lapse back in to all my bad habits.
I feel really disappointed mostly because I'm not playing much tournament golf this year as it is, so really wanted to make the most of the ones I did play in so feel like I let myself down a bit. That being said, I now have a while to build up to the next one and some proper time to devote to my practising.

Rach and I went away to Paris on thursday to see Paolo Nutini in concert and I must say it was absolutely brilliant!! I had really wanted to see him in concert for ages and was not let down at all. Thanks Rach, as always an awesome birthday. You always surprise me with brilliant things on my birthday and this was no exception....

Shameless plug!!

Hello once more. Haha the opportunity has finally come for me to be able to advertise my teaching services in an accessible way. Simply do the following:

1/ type: www.kngolfacademy.moonfruit.co.uk in to your browsers
2/ Click on 'meet the pros'
3/ observe the rather handsome chappie on the furthest right - haha yes that's me.

I now have an internet profile, which is very exciting but I need people to see it, cos I need to give some more golf lessons than I have been giving. So, good readers of this blog, tell your friends please. Hopefully my photo doesn't offend anyone. It actually took about 5 or 6 goes to find one I was remotely happy with - imagine the bad ones!!

Anyways, I am really looking forward to the next couple of weeks. In fact, the only that isn't going well in my life is my current hangover headache - IT IS A STINKER OUCH OUCH!!!

Other than that, I have a tournament as mentioned next week, and at last finally Rach and I can see light at the end of the tunnel with our house. All contracts have been posted now and we should be looking to exchange VERY SOON. 1...2...3: WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very happy with my job, things are great. I like the place, I like the people I work with, I like the shift system in place, and I like the fact that my golf clubs no longer have cobwebs on them. All we need now is the summer to return (and some more golf lessons - did I mention I know have a profile ;>) ???) Oh, and I could chip and putt a bit better I really would have struck gold. I have been working so hard on my long game recently and feel I have become a very good ball striker. My driving off the tee couldn't be any better than it is right now - I'm not really missing any fairways at all and I'm hitting it pretty long as well.

So, very positive blogging right now. Will write after my tournament, hopefully with some good news. I need a top 10 finish to get through to the next stage!!!

The new job....

G'day,

Well folks I am extremely pleased to say that the first few days in the new job have gone brilliantly. I get on very well with everyone I work with and the whole place has a much more relaxed and comfortable vibe. I'm much happier here and think that I will continue to be happy there for a long time.
And, I have now officially given my first golf lesson!! No messing about, I was thrust head first straight into teaching. I was very nervous but to be honest, I was excited too as I was finally gonna get 'the first lesson' out of the way. I will put details about the golf academy I am part of soon which is also exciting. Watch this space and tell your friends, Lewis S Cains is now available to improve your golf game (haha!).

Just a quick blog today to say that things are going very well. Rach and I still haven't heard any more about our house yet! We're waiting to hear from our solicitors but the seller seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth! When I hear more, I will write about it.

I have a tournament in a couple of weeks, The Powerade Assistants Championship. I have got to get my chipping and putting upto scratch because I feel I can be very competitive. My long game isn't great but i'm not hitting it into any ridiculously bad places. I have two weeks to prepare and focus, so hopefully I can improve these areas in time as I desperately would like a top 10 finish so I qualify to the next stage of the tournament at the London Club.

Fingers crossed. Ta ta....
